  17. <p>     Once again the stars and planets appeared in proper alignment
  18. for Middle East peace talks. So, at least, declared U.S.
  19. Secretary of State Warren Christopher, who began nurturing this
  20. latest round on a swing through the region in February. He
  21. confirmed the resumption following a final bit of jockeying by
  22. participants. Israel declared that it had no plans to deport
  23. more Palestinians from occupied territories. The Palestinian
  24. delegation, newly led by Jerusalemite Faisal al-Husseini, lost
  25. two far-left members, who opposed new negotiations and resigned
  26. in protest.
